Ben Osborne was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1994. He received his BFA degree in Studio Art from Appalachian State University in 2016, and MFA in Printmaking from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2021. While at SIU, he taught Introduction to Printmaking, Intaglio, Woodcut, Screenprinting, and Introduction to Drawing. He has exhibited in Washington, DC, North Carolina, as well as Illinois. His work consists of prints and drawings centered on a queer perspective of the human experience. Osborne’s representations of clothing address issues of gender and sexuality. His work connects the physicality and imagery of textiles to the construction of individual identity. He currently resides in Carbondale, Illinois.
